Luxury Travel in Australia

If you are planning a holiday and fancy a bit of pampering and luxury travel, then you can find some fantastic places in Australia. This article aims to tell you about a few of the best luxury experiences as well as five-star accommodation ideas. There are lots to choose from in the fantastic country of Australia.

We reached out to Zach of commercial pressure washing Houston to share with us his extensive love for traveling to Australia.  He has visited numerous times and has a top 3 list that will make you want to visit as often as possible.

These are Zach’s top 3 recommendations for experiencing luxury in Australia:

  1. Hayman Island, The Whitsundays.
australia-sunsetThis is a collection of islands that offer arguably the best beaches in Australia. If you want to stay at best, then head to Hayman Island. They even have their boat that takes you from the airport directly to Hayman. The journey over there is magnificent in itself, helped slightly by the continuous flow of champagne.
The facilities, once you get there, are beautiful with every detail being thought of and your every desire being catered for. The resort takes over the entire island, so you are sure to find a secluded spot on the beach. They also offer lots of great day trips, including snorkeling, diving, cruises and helicopter rides.
A room here can cost about $45 AUD per night. If that sounds like a bargain, then you may want to try Lizard Island or Wilson Island. These resorts are much smaller giving them an air of exclusivity with a price tag to match.
  2. Take a Ride on the Ghan.
This is potentially the most scenic journey in Australia, and it will be like no other journey that you have ever experienced. This train trip takes you from Adelaide all the way up to Darwin. It stops at Alice Springs and Katherine too. This takes you right through the Australian outback and the famous Red Centre. You will start to realize just how big Australia is.
The trip itself is about 48 hours, and the luxurious cabins will cost around $2000 AUD.
  3. Moondance Lodge – Enjoy Australian Wine.
Perhaps the best wine region in Australia, the Margaret River is located just 3 hours from Perth. This is a perfect place to experience two of the best things about Australia – it’s wine, and it’s pristine beaches. Here you can easily combine the two and enjoy some fantastic food served by many of the wineries.
The best place to stay in the Margaret River is Moondance Lodge. It is set on a lake not far from the town of Margaret River. The facilities are excellent, and they offer great day trips and Australian experiences. Their spa services are also fabulous.

Here is a great video of riding the Ghan that you may enjoy to help get you excited about this trip.

Experiencing luxury travel on a budget
Not everyone can afford a 5-star holiday, but there are ways to inject a little luxury into your holiday. Firstly, consider incorporating just one or two nights of total luxury into your itinerary. You could even make it a surprise for your other half.

Or, you could plan a special day. Australia has great weather so why not organize a luxury hamper with a bottle of something sparkling and find somewhere to enjoy your picnic. In Sydney, you can hire a boat at Rose Bay without any prior sailing knowledge. You get to cruise the famous harbor, passing directly in front of the Opera House and Bridge. There are lots of secluded bays that you can stop off at along the way.
Look out for bargains and last minute offers luxury accommodation as you may just get lucky. Wotif.com is a good website to find last minute offers. I saw Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island at very reasonable rates. It turns out that a large party had recently canceled and they needed to fill the rooms quickly.
